about Mardeen Mattix

As Chief Financial Officer, Mardeen Mattix leads the San Diego Convention Center’s finance, information technology, and human resources areas. She started her career at SDCC more than 20 years ago, in 1998, gaining a broad base of expertise from her varied positions in event management, accounting, and sales. In 2018, she assumed her role as CFO and became part of SDCC’s Executive Team. Mattix has played a key role in guiding the organization’s strategies, leading staff through the COVID-19 pandemic, and carefully preparing for the future. In addition to improving internal business processes, she regularly presents to San Diego City Council and serves as a trusted voice for the region’s convention and tourism industry.

Mattix graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Outside of work, she is busy mom of four kids and loves to spend time with family. Their family enjoys off-road adventures during the winter and boating during the summer on weekends that aren’t consumed by kids’ sporting events. She enjoys volunteering on various school committees and often coordinates team sport events.
