Julia Slocombe serves as the Senior Vice President of Operations & Industry Relations for Smart City Networks, where she oversees operations at convention centers across the western United States. With a career spanning over two decades at Smart City Networks, Ms. Slocombe has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership in technology and telecommunications operations. Her responsibilities include ensuring alignment with client and industry relationships, identifying new sales opportunities, and spearheading impactful initiatives to support the company's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) objectives.

Throughout her tenure, Ms. Slocombe has played a pivotal role in securing major contract renewals at prominent convention centers. Notably, she contributed to successful agreements for the implementation of Neutral Host Distributed Antennae Systems, advancing connectivity and communication capabilities within these venues.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Slocombe is dedicated to community engagement and leadership. She serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for United States International University-Africa and previously contributed her expertise as a board member for Neighborhood House San Diego. Her industry involvement includes active memberships with the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), member of the Board of Directors at the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), and the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). She is a former chair of IAEE's Women's Leadership Forum and IAVM's Diversity and Inclusive Leadership Committee, as well as a member of the Equity Task Force for the Events Industry Council.

Ms. Slocombe earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Business Management Economics from the State University of New York, Oneonta. She further expanded her expertise by obtaining a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the University of South Florida's Muma College of Business.

Residing in Chula Vista, California, Julia enjoys spending her free time tending to her vegetable garden, embracing the tranquility of nature.
