about Darlynne Reyes Menkin

Darlynne Reyes Menkin is President and Owner of Where You Want to Be Tours, Inc. and Out of the Ordinary, two award-winning companies that design and facilitate team building & wellness programs and curated tour experiences.

With over two decades of experience, Darlynne and her team have built a reputation for helping organizations strengthen company culture, foster collaboration, and cultivate future leaders. Their creative, experiential programs are designed to inspire connection and create lasting impact.

Darlynne launched Where You Want to Be with her husband, Marc Menkin, in 2003 and acquired Out of the Ordinary in 2015. Before starting her companies, Darlynne worked as a TV News Anchor and Reporter for over 21 years, earning a Golden Mic Award for investigative reporting and multiple honors from the San Diego Press Club.

In 2024, Darlynne was named a Smart Woman Entrepreneurs in Meetings recipient by Smart Meetings and a Woman of Influence by the San Diego Business Journal. In 2025, Smart Meetings recognized her as a *Smart Speaker, and her companies earned the Best Team Building award from California Meetings & Events. This year, Darlynne was recognized as an Asian American Pacific Islander Leaders of Influence by the San Diego Business Journal.

Darlynne is also a sought-after Keynote Speaker, Fireside Chat Moderator and facilitator. She speaks on various topics ranging from Boosting Company Culture to Health & Wellness and Building Strong Teams.

Outside of work, Darlynne enjoys hiking, biking, traveling and discovering new restaurants. She’s been married to her college sweetheart for 35 years.
