Kimberly J. Becker

President and CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority

As President/CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, Kimberly J. Becker is responsible for management oversight of the Airport Authority and the Airport Authority’s annual operating budget and five-year capital budget.  According to the most recent economic impact study, San Diego International Airport generates $11.9 billion annually in economic impact for the region.  

Prior to joining the Airport Authority, Ms. Becker served as Director of Aviation for Mineta San Jose International Airport from 2013-2017, and held increasingly responsible positions at that airport since 1995, including Chief Operating Officer and Assistant Director of Aviation. Her career in aviation and airport management spans more than 30 years and has included operations and environmental positions at Lockheed Air Terminal in Burbank, Calif., and Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. 

Ms. Becker is a member of the California Airports Council (CAC) Board of Directors and the Gateway Airports Council Committee of Directors.  As a member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), she serves on the International Facilitation Committee and Policy Review Committee.  She also serves as a U.S. Policy Council Member and Large Hub Committee Member for Airports Council International – North America, where she participates in policy discussions that affect U.S. airports.

Locally, she serves on the Boards of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp., the San Diego Tourism Authority, and the Kyoto Symposium Organization.

Ms. Becker has previously served as President of the CAC, which represents 33 commercial service airports in California and previously served on the Board of Directors for the SW Chapter of AAAE.  

Ms. Becker holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in business administration/aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
